Art III 

Art III: Portfolio Development

Grades 11, 12  2 credit

Prerequisite: Art II (with a grade of B or better)

 

The portfolio is a vehicle through which students can demonstrate their ability to handle visual arts media with a sense of quality, show a breadth of formal, technical and expressive experiences; and concentrate on a particular interest or problem. At this level students may work beyond scheduled periods, taking the responsibility to leave the art room if any assignment requires. Students will maintain a sketchbook or journal.

 This course is taken as a preliminary step to begin the development of a body of work leading in the following year to the Advanced Placement examination.

If you are in the AP/GT class, you are expected to take the AP Studio Art exam.

Art IV 

Art IV: Personal Directions in Studio Art

Grades 12 1 or 2 credit
